Founded in 1987, Gram Sudhar Samiti (GSS) is a grassroots organisation working across Madhya Pradesh to strengthen community-led development in rural and underserved regions. The organisation focuses on addressing region-specific challenges related to natural resource degradation, livelihoods, and social well-being through participatory and locally rooted approaches. GSS works closely with village institutions and local stakeholders to promote restoration of land and water resources, sustainable livelihoods, women’s leadership, education, Natural Farming, and responsive local governance. Its approach emphasises community ownership, capacity building, and long-term ecological sustainability as the foundation for economic and social resilience. The organisation is registered under the Societies Registration Act and holds 12A, 80G, and FCRA compliances, working in partnership with communities, civil society organisations, and government systems to advance inclusive and sustainable rural development.
